After consumers have satisfied their basic needs, health has become the main demand. To ensure food safety, the Global Food Safety Initiative was proposed to build a strong, flexible, and sustainable global food system. To date, 110 out of 113 countries around the world have established a food safety network and enforced the corresponding food safety initiative. In addition, according to the 2020 Global Food Security Index, several countries have made major progress in ensuring access to basic micronutrients for their population. The dramatic reduction in poverty rates in Asia, in particular, demonstrates the positive contribution of healthy food safety guidelines to bridging the gap between developing and developed countries.
With the rapid development of the global economy, mankind has acquired higher requirements for food. A healthy lifestyle has subconsciously become the norm, such as a multi-functional diet, which not only meets nutritional needs, but also meets the demands of enhancing vitality, fighting against aging, and maintaining body shape. However, chemical food additives can only improve the appearance, flavor, organizational structure, or storage properties in the production, processing, and handling of food. Since these food additives are not nutritious, overusing them can burden the body and cause organ damage.
